Bhutan has something for you whether you are the active type or the laid back type or the nerdy type.
Some of the tourist attractions in Bhutan are:
Paro Valley
The Paro Valley lies in the Western part of Bhutan and boasts a rich history that never fails to amaze its visitors. Beautiful Dzongs (temple complexes), monasteries and palaces adorn this valley that has retained its old worldly charm in spite of the ravages of time. In fact, this wonderful region exists in a state of blissful ignorance that contributes greatly to its undeniable charm. The Valley has two of its most famous landmarks: Tiger's Nest monastery and the old Watch Tower which is now home to the National Museum.
Punakha - the old capital
A three-hour drive from Thimpu takes you to Punakha, the old capital of Bhutan. This old city stands majestically near the banks of the Punakha River that is often referred to as an angler's paradise. Punakha Dzong is a classic example of the intricate Bhutanese style of architecture.
Tongsa
Tongsa boasts of spectacular scenic views and a massive Dzong structure sitting in a strategic spot in the valley that is indeed a work of art. Besides, Tongsa is also famous as the place where the first attempt to unify Bhutan was made.
Bhutan Festivals
A number of colorful events and festivals take place in Bhutan every year. Most of the events have religious undertones to them, but that doesn't underlie the boisterous nature of the Bhutanese people. Moreover, the colorful events are indeed a treat to watch.
Other tourist attractions in Bhutan include Phobjikha Valley for its unspoilt tranquilising scenery & Bumthang Valley for being the center of religious history.
